Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate Marketing — is a type of marketing when the company hires independent publishers (affiliates) to generate traffic to the company’s site or its services. The affiliates receive the commission fees (affiliate commission) as the payment for services depending on the attracted traffic. 

How the Affiliate Marketing works:

  • Affiliate places a link on the advertiser’s site or goods on his platform.
  • Customer clicks on the link.
  • Customer is redirected to the advertiser’s site.
  • Customer makes a purchase.
  • Affiliate network registers the transaction. 
  • Purchase is confirmed by the store.
  • Affiliate marketer gets the commission. 

Affiliate Marketing models

Unattached Affiliate Marketing. This business model functions by the scheme Pay Per Click. The affiliate doesn’t have to be related to the advertiser niche. He places the affiliate link on his platform (blog, video, social media). The affiliate link leads to the advertiser’s site. The affiliate receives the payment for every click or visit on the advertiser’s site.   

Related Affiliate Marketing. This business model functions by the scheme Paid To Click. The affiliate has to be related to the advertiser niche. He places the affiliate link on his platform (blog, video, social media). The affiliate link leads to the advertiser’s site. The affiliate receives the payment for every click on the link. 

Involved Affiliate Marketing. Affiliate uses personal influence to promote the advertiser’s products among the audience. He tells about his own experience of using these products or services. In this case, the affiliate needs to be familiar with the advertiser's product. The sharing of personal experience makes this promotion more genuine and trusted. The type of payment for the affiliate’s service may vary (for example, Pay Per Lead or Pay Per Sale).
