QQQQ
QQQQ (pronounced as cubes or quadruple-Qs) is the previous stock symbol for an exchange-traded fund or shortly ETF called Nasdaq 100 Trust, which trades on the Nasdaq Stock Market (an American stock exchange with its base in New York). The fund provides access to the wide range of non-financial securities from the Nasdaq 100 Index. The Nasdaq 100 Index includes the one hundred biggest and most actively traded organizations of non-financial sectors on the Nasdaq. At the current moment the ETF is well-known under its new ticker QQQ and name Invesco QQQ Trust.
QQQQ and Nasdaq 100
Despite the fact QQQQ doesn’t exist under this name and officially is known as Invesco QQQ Trust, it continues to follow the largest companies that are in the Nasdaq 100. The value of market cap serves as criteria to follow. The Nasdaq 100 includes a large number of organizations from distinct sectors, such as biotechnology, health care etc. However, as it was mentioned above, the index doesn’t include financial sector companies (e. g. commercial and investment banks). The fund offers a wide variety of safe and viable securities of well-established companies (Google, Microsoft, ect).
To be included in the Invesco QQQ Trust (QQQQ) a company must be part of the Nasdaq 100 no less than two years. However, another way to get into the Invesco QQQ Trust. To be more specific, if an organization has been there for one year, but its market capitalization is high enough and its stock average daily trading volume equals to 200,000 shares, such organization may be included. In addition, the organization must report its income quarterly and annually. Failed companies that are declared bankrupt aren’t allowed to become a part of the Invesco QQQ Trust.
Details of the Invesco QQQ Trust
The main part (slightly less than fifty percent) of the Invesco assets consists of securities of the IT sector. The fund comprises the most advanced and innovative companies such as Amazon, Google, Tesla etc. The second place takes consumer cyclicals (around sixteen percent) and the third place takes the communication services industry (around eighteen percent as well). Another part of the ETF comprises securities of the health care sector, the industrial sector, etc., the percentage doesn't exceed ten percent for each sector.
