The indicator evaluates the change in the number of new orders of manufacturing enterprises and is one of the indices on the basis of which the production PMI from ISM is calculated.
The calculations are based on data from a survey of supply managers from 18 industries in the country for the reporting period. The information obtained is compiled into a diffusion index, the weight of which in the calculation of the production PMI is 20%.
