This indicator measures the change in the number of new orders received by service-providing companies and is one of the indices used to calculate the ISM non-manufacturing PMI.
The calculations are based on data from a survey of supply managers in 17 service industries in the country during the reporting period. The information obtained is compiled into a diffusion index, which has a weight of 25% in the calculation of the non-manufacturing PMI.
