On Tuesday, the fact of Mavi Zingoni being appointed as the CEO of General Electric’s power business was confirmed. The mentioned unit of the company includes several businesses, among which are ones operating in gas, steam and nuclear energy spheres.
Zingoni has previously worked for Repsol, which is the largest oil and gas company of Spain. She held a position of an executive managing director of client and low carbon generation business there.
As it has been recently announced, Zingoni will start carrying out her duties as CEO on January 1, being relocated to the United States.
A General Electric representative has said that, as GE continues working together with its clients on speeding up the process of energy transition, while preparing for the projected spin-off GE Vernova, Zingoni’s in-depth experience within the industry is of high importance for the company’s prospects.
The power unit of General Electric, which Zingoni will head up, made up around 23% of the company’s revenue in the previous year. The unit is considered to be among the toughest businesses of General Electric, as there has been no increasing of revenue for a long period of time.
All the while, there was a decline in orders noticed in the unit’s results of the first half of the current year. Nevertheless, General Electric is looking forward to seeing profits this year, while a little revenue growth of single-digit numbers is expected to appear in the reports.
