Google to unveil Pixel smartwatch and smartphone at Oct. 6 presentation

Google announces the launch of the latest Pixel 7 smartphone and the first smartwatch that is expected in early October.

The Made by Google event, scheduled for Oct. 6 in New York, will introduce the flagship Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro and Pixel Watch line. New Nest smart home portfolio is also ready to be released. 

The products will be available for sale on Google's online and brick-and-mortar stores, appearing on New York shelves from October 6. 

The Pixel Watch smartwatch is designed to combine "Google's systems with Fitbit's expertise in fitness devices," according to the blog. The corporation announced the brand’s acquisition back in late 2019. Purchasing process closed in January 2021, with the estimated value of $2.1 billion.

Google's launch is likely to happen earlier than planned. The reason is Apple's presentation, i.e. the firm’s direct competitor, to be held the coming Wednesday at its headquarters in California. The event will focus on the new iPhone 14 and the latest version of the Apple Watch.
