Soy is often used as an inexpensive and healthy substitute for meat and dairy products. It is part of the feed for young farm animals. Soybean meal is widely used in the meat and dairy industry and is part of many meat products. Soybean is a waste-free crop, all parts of the plant are processed into more than four hundred types of various products.

Corn is the world's second largest grain crop after wheat. World corn exports are around 100 million tons, of which the United States, Argentina and Brazil account for the bulk. The largest importers are Japan, South Korea, Mexico, China and Spain.
