Sell ETHUSD upon breaking $2,350 support

The Ethereum market is currently caught in a deep downward spiral. The leading altcoin is trading at around $2,365, having dropped 6% over the past week. Although the cryptocurrency has finally hit a critical support level due to a prolonged decline, the fundamental backdrop is still completely hostile to its genuine price recovery. Put simply, ETH is unable to gain traction, as it collides with a powerful US dollar, an unwaveringly hawkish Federal Reserve (Fed), and relentless American government bond yields.

So, what's the biggest thorn in the side? The latest inflation shock from Washington. In September, the annual Consumer Price Index (CPI) accelerated to 3.7%, up from 3.4% in August, blindsiding Wall Street's expectations. This hotter-than-expected jump has investors refusing to fight the US regulator and factoring in an 80% chance of another interest rate hike as early as October. A fiercely restrictive monetary stance acts as a liquidity drain, actively punishing risky assets like Ethereum. Nevertheless, sticky inflation means borrowing costs are bound to stay higher for longer, making a near-term crypto revival unlikely.

To make matters worse, ongoing turbulence in the American debt market creates an additional hurdle. Specifically, the 10-year US Treasury yield has marched back above 5.3%, treading water near multi-year peaks. These lucrative, risk-free returns are pulling money out of the digital asset ecosystem and reallocating institutional funds from volatile token investments to safe debt instruments.

Simultaneously, a strong US dollar is putting a stranglehold on the broader crypto market, making it difficult for quotes to recover.

From a technical perspective, bears are still in the driver's seat, as ETH continues to slide. After being sharply rejected at $2,700, the price drifted to a critical support level near $2,350—a horizontal floor that has historically triggered sharp buy-side reactions. However, if bears break out cleanly and consolidate below this threshold, it will signal mass capitulation. In such a scenario, the floodgates will open, exposing the next major target at $2,100.

The final recommendation:

— Sell ETHUSD at the current price ($2,365), aiming to reach $2,100 within one month.

— To protect your position from adverse market movements, place a Stop Loss order at $2,410.
