High time to sell Ethereum. $2,800 target per coin is in sight

In the cryptocurrency sector, there is a common belief that Bitcoin and altcoins frequently fluctuate in relative opposition. Typically, BTCUSD rallies first while altcoins remain stagnant or decline. Once Bitcoin's upward momentum peaks, the "altseason" begins, triggering a bullish surge across other cryptocurrencies.

Looking at the current market, it's clear that BTC has completed its latest growth phase and entered a consolidation period. ETHUSD, which joined the rally later, is also trading in a flat and forming a descending channel pattern on the charts. Today's situation is particularly interesting as Ethereum is nearing the psychologically important level of $4,000—a zone that has served as strong technical resistance for years. Markets may see the token attempt one final push toward this resistance area as a culmination of the rally.

If ETH surges one last time to test the $4,000 resistance level, one can expect a correction back to the previous support zone around $2,800 per coin. Nevertheless, it's quite possible that Ethereum might not attain those peaks and could start falling from its current value instead. Either way, the technical picture suggests the crypto's next move is set to be down.

To identify a technical signal for entering a short position, observe when the ETHUSD price crosses the 14-period moving average on the daily timeframe.

The overall recommendation is to sell ETHUSD.

The profit target could be set at $2,800. A Stop Loss is placed at $4,300.

The volume of your open position should be calculated so that the potential loss (protected by a Stop Loss order) does not exceed 1% of your deposit. If your account balance doesn't allow you to open a position of this size, it is better to avoid entering the market on this signal and wait for another trade opportunity that meets low-risk criteria.
