News Sentiment Indicator

The News Sentiment Indicator (NSI) reflects an overall impact the news has on the financial asset over a certain period of time.

To calculate the indicator, each news item is given a certain weight, as not all the news items have the same impact on the asset. The more important the news item is, the more weight it has.

Moreover, some news items have a positive impact on the asset, while others have a negative one. So, besides the weight, each news is marked with a corresponding “+” or “-” sign.
