Amazon suspends retail hiring until the end of 2022.
The tech giant is suspending hiring for all of its corporate positions, including technical positions. In addition, new hiring will also be suspended at Amazon stores around the world, which make up the majority of the company's sales.
However, the New York Times says Amazon's cloud computing unit, which is more profitable than the company's retail business, will not be affected. In addition, student hiring, as well as employees that are hired for positions that include work tasks performed outside of the office, will not be suspended.
