Management of Apple asked the suppliers to relocate part of the headphone production from China to India. We are talking about AirPods and Beats models. Assembling company Foxconn says it is preparing to set up production in India. Electronic components’ supplier Luxshare Precision Industry is also ready to help Apple in this matter.
However, according to Nikkei, Luxshare is currently focusing on its Vietnam subsidiary, and the headphone launch process may not be as fast as the competition.
Apple is relocating some of its productions formerly situated in China. Part of the production will be moved to India. At the beginning of the year, the production of the iPhone 13 was already launched in India. It is also planned to open factories for assembling the iPad. Last week, Apple management announced that production of the iPhone 14 would open in India.
Bloomberg reports that India's iPhone exports have exceeded $1 billion in five months since April. Until March 2023, annual exports should exceed two billion dollars.
