An official representative of Ford Motor Co has recently announced that the company is increasing the price of its F-150 Lightning Pro electric truck for the models produced in 2023. Thus, Ford attempts to mitigate the impact of delays in the supply chain, as well as the impact of high inflation observed for the first time over the past decades.
The truck’s previous price was $46,974, but due to the delivery delays, increased material costs and other market factors, the new bar is set at $51,974. Therefore, the price increases by almost 11%.
However, the Ford’s representative added to the announcement that the current price rise won’t affect some of the company’s commercial and government customers, who have made or scheduled their orders before the price change.
According to analysts, demand for light and heavy vehicles might decline soon because of the constant interest rate hikes, which discourage consumers’ desire and ability for such type of purchases.
