News AUDCAD
Retail sales in Australia unexpectedly dropped in April after three months of growth. This prompted traders to revise forecasts of interest rate cuts by the Reserve Bank of Australia this year.
A decrease of the indicator value may contribute to the fall in quotes of AUD.
April inflation in Australia came slightly higher than analysts’ forecasts. The Australian Bureau of Statistics reports that the consumer price index remained at 2.4%, with economists having expected it to fall to 2.3%.
Adam Button, who heads Forexlive's analytical department, in an interview with BNN Bloomberg on Monday stated his opinion that the Canadian dollar will strengthen to $0.74 by the end of the year. He attributed this appreciation to the increasing uncertainty in global financial markets.
