Commerzbank: Expectations of a slowdown in US interest rate hikes may provide support for gold

Economists at Commerzbank report that US inflation data and/or the Fed and ECB data could support the gold market this week.

According to experts, inflation data may turn out to be more moderate compared to the market’s expectations. US inflation data may not affect the Fed's interest rate decision. However, it could set the tone at a press conference. If the market lowers its expectations for a rate hike cycle, this is likely to lend buoyancy to Gold.

Nevertheless, the likelihood that the ECB decision will have a serious impact on the prices is somewhat low.
