According to ship tracking data provided by Bloomberg, the volume of liquefied natural gas (LNG) re-export back from China exceeded 280,000 tons in April. Based on the statistics provided, this represents 7.7% of the total volume of imports of this type of fuel for the month.
At the same time, the country's supercooled fuel import figures are expected to show a downturn this month, as Bloomberg experts suggest, reflecting a decline in buying activity over the past six months.
According to Kpler, an analytical company that tracks ship data, the export figure for this type of fuel from China has already reached a mark of about 160,000 tons in April.
Earlier, Chinese importers diverted much of the contracted LNG from the US to Europe in order to earn higher profits amid weak domestic demand and new tariffs on the US fuel.
