Any further problems related to the fuel will bring issues to Japan which is very dependent on imports from Sakhalin because of its lack of own resources. Tokyo has repeatedly said the Sakhalin-2 project is important for the energy security of the country. The representative of Japanese major energy company Jera Co. Hirotaka Iwase said that now, the firm evaluates the influence on the purchase of liquefied natural gas.
