Canada approves upgraded Pfizer vaccine
According to data published on the official website of the Government of Canada, improved COVID-19 booster vaccines produced by Pfizer Inc in conjunction with BioNTech SE to protect against the Omicron BA.4 and BA.5 subvariants were approved on Friday.
The companies have said that substantial quantities of the vaccine will become available in the near future.
Pfizer is currently in the process of obtaining approval from health regulators in the US and Europe to use the Omicron vaccine for ages 5 to 11. In addition, the company announced plans to apply to Health Canada about using the vaccine among children of the same age.
