Microsoft launched an update for Windows 11

Microsoft has released its first major official operating system update. Recall that the tech giant released its flagship Windows 11 almost a year ago.

On Tuesday, the update was launched in more than 190 countries. It is available for those who are already using Windows 11 for free. Microsoft's vision for the future of mixed work is reflected in many new functions.

Windows 11 has become the most used version of Windows ever. The latest update is designed for simplifying and improving the security of remote work on a PC. For example, there is a new Smart App Control tool in the update. Using artificial intelligence (AI) technology, it allows to block viruses or insecure apps from launching on devices.

According to Microsoft, Windows 11 is the safest version of the operating system.

Also, the Snap layout programs have been improved in the update. It helps people to optimize multiple open applications or documents in front of them simultaneously. The update includes "Focus Sessions" and "Do Not Disturb" functions. They help to minimize distractions. When launching a new focus session, the Do Not Disturb function is activated, which blocks icons on the taskbar and disables all notifications that might distract from the current task.

The Start Menu has also been updated. The search function is now faster and more accurate, and there are new methods of setting up the menu. Also, tabs are now available in the explorer. According to Panay, this was the most frequently requested function from Windows users.

Also, AI technology has found use in the new Windows Studio Effects tool. It cleans the sound of background noises such as lawnmowers and children's screams in the audio, and blurs the background objects in the video. This helps to improve the quality of video and audio calls. Also, the speaker's eyes in it are slightly raised for the effect of looking directly into the camera during video calls.

Earlier, Microsoft announced special capabilities functions, including system-wide live subtitles that automatically convert any form of audio content to a text. Furthermore, there was the announcement of an update for Natural Voices for Narrator, which shows real speech modes more accurately and helps to read documents or browse web pages. Now the company is working on implementing them in Windows 11.

Microsoft indicated in a message to CNN that the development of many of its new inclusion functions was partly the work of Microsoft employees with disabilities.

The Microsoft blog informs consumers that the "measured and staggered deployment" idea allows them to offer updates to their compliant devices. They will be able to open "Windows Update Center" in their settings and just get the update.
