FXStreet analysts note growing competition in the race for bitcoin reserves among corporate players. Companies like Strategy, Metaplanet, and Reitar Logtech are ramping up their bitcoin holdings.
Business analytics firm Strategy has purchased an additional 705 bitcoin for $75.1 million, paying an average of $106,495 per coin. The company now holds 580,955 bitcoin, acquired at a total cost of $40.7 billion.
Japanese firm Metaplanet has bought an additional 1,088 bitcoin for $117.1 million at an average price of $107,771 per coin. This latest acquisition brings the company's total bitcoin treasury to 8,888 BTC. The move follows similar bitcoin accumulation strategies by Semler Scientific and Trump Media Group, with the three firms collectively raising $2.3 billion to establish their BTC reserves.
Hong Kong real estate and logistics firm Reitar Logtech plans to purchase up to $1.5 billion worth of cryptocurrency as part of its treasury diversification strategy.
