Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bolat Akchulakov said that the first January oil shipment plan from Kazakhstan to Germany via the Druzhba pipeline may include sending 20,000 tons. Overall, Kazakhstan may deliver 1.5 million tons of crude in 2023.
On December 29, KazTransOil asked Russia’s Transneft for transit capacity for 2023 to send 1.2 million tons of Kazakh crude via the Druzhba pipeline to Germany. This was later confirmed by the Kazakh company. According to the Russian company, 300,000 tons will head to Germany in the first quarter. The company needs to get approval from the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation.
Bolat Akchulakov confirmed that Russia was ready to support the Kazakhstan's request for transit of its oil to Germany via the Druzhba oil pipeline.
He also said that Kazakhstan previously hadn’t experienced any difficulties working with the Russian side, so there should be no inconveniences.
