Solana Foundation and Kazakhstan launch special economic zone

The Solana Foundation has signed an agreement with the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation, and the Aerospace Industry of Kazakhstan to establish a special economic zone based on blockchain technology. Named the Solana Economic Zone Kazakhstan (SEZ KZ), this zone will be the first project of its kind in Central Asia.

The initiative aims to develop blockchain technologies, stimulate innovation, and attract international investment. As part of the collaboration, the Solana Foundation will provide the technical infrastructure and expertise, and Kazakhstan will ensure a favorable regulatory climate for companies working with digital assets.

The project will focus on three areas: developing tokenized capital markets, introducing educational programs on blockchain technologies, and attracting foreign tech companies. The ministry noted that the zone will allow the testing of new technologies in a controlled environment, thereby accelerating the country's digitalization.

According to experts from the 36crypto website, this step is part of the Solana Foundation's strategy to strengthen its position in the institutional sector.
