Elon Musk is ready to introduce the robot "Optimus"

Musk's Texas-based company is preparing to produce thousands of anthropomorphic robots. They are known as the Tesla Bot or Optimus and will be produced in their own factories. The number of production facilities is planned to expand to several million worldwide in the future. This information can be found in the job advertisements.

At a TED Talk, Musk said that robots will be able to perform household chores such as cooking and caring for the elderly. Robots will also be able to become a buddy or sexual partner.

According to Musk, the robot business could end up being worth more than Tesla's revenue from car sales.

Optimus, a prototype project, will be unveiled by Tesla on Sept. 30 at AI Day. The prototype's name is a reference to the leader of the Autobots in the "Transformers" series, the good and powerful one. According to Musk, production could start next year.

Tesla factories already use robots. There they do specific jobs, participating in the production of cars.

Musk's robots might be able to demonstrate basic capabilities at the event, but according to experts, they will have a hard time impressing the public, who expect robots to have the same abilities as humans.

According to Nancy Cook, a professor of human systems engineering at Arizona State University, Tesla needs to demonstrate how robots perform many actions without a prescribed script. Such a demonstration could boost Tesla stock.
