Full self-driving (FSD) software by Tesla Inc. is about to hike to $15,000. This is the second price advance in 2022.
The decision comes into force on September 5, concerning North America exclusively. A current worth of $12,000 is valid until the specified date.
The FSD option still remains a matter of debate. Thus, the Department of Motor Vehicles of California has accused Tesla of misleading clients. Autopilot requires EV owners to focus on the road and keep their hands on the wheel, despite the claims of fully autonomous driving. A case for false advertising was filed. The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration also launched an investigation into Tesla's FSD malfunction. Cameras recorded the system shutting down in the event of accidents.
In response to the allegations, the 51-year-old billionaire stated solving these issues as a company’s priority. This feature highlights Tesla’s electric vehicles among other budget versions.
One cannot fail to note the latest FSD hike for $2,000, witnessed in January. Tesla Inc. estimates that over 100,000 drivers are accessing the company’s driver-assistance system.
