Ripple and Chipper Cash to enable crypto payments in Africa using XRP

Ripple is expanding its African presence through a new strategic partnership with payments platform Chipper Cash. The collaboration aims to revolutionize international remittances by utilizing XRP as a core transactional asset.

Chipper Cash, serving five million users across nine African countries, will leverage this partnership to enable instant blockchain-powered transfers. The platform will provide 24/7 availability with substantially lower fees than traditional banks. This innovation eliminates operational hour restrictions, allowing users to receive funds from anywhere globally at any time.

Reece Merrick, Ripple's Managing Director in this region, describes this initiative as a significant milestone in the company's continental expansion. With African consumers showing increasing appetite for crypto-powered payments, Ripple identifies substantial potential for XRP to streamline cross-border money transfers.
