Ripple creates decentralized SWIFT alternative for cross-border payments

Ripple creates decentralized SWIFT alternative for cross-border payments

XPR community has once again come into the spotlight due to rumors of possible partnership between Ripple and SWIFT — two major companies in global payments' sphere.

Although the information appeared unconfirmed, discussions about Ripple ambitions and potential of XPR continues to gain momentum.

It all started with the publication by popular news resource Watcher.Guru, which outlined SWIFT's plans to use XRP in cross-border payments. The post caused a wide resonance, but was never confirmed.

Currently, SWIFT is denying any partnership with Ripple. Instead, the platform is actively exploring the blockchain opportunities, working with other projects. From its part, Ripple continues to expand its network, cooperating with banks, and developing infrastructure for cross-border payments.

Ripple Chief Technology officer David Schwartz also commented on the situation, emphasizing the commitment of the company to create a SWIFT alternative, based on decentralized technologies. According to Times Tabloid, his vision includes a system with global reach, increased speed and transparency, offering an innovative solution for global finance.
