Amazon is changing its hiring policy on the back of an unpredictable economic situation. The company wants to stop corporate hiring and keep the policy for several months. This is a sign of change in the personnel policy even at the largest technology companies.
Beth Galetti, senior vice president of human resources and technology at the e-commerce giant, created an internal memo to Amazon employees. It says that the company has decided to take a pause for new additional hires.
Galetti added that management has already done so at several of its subsidiaries in the last few weeks. She said the company expects to maintain this pause for the next few months and will continue to monitor the economy and business to make adjustments.
She also noted in a statement that some Amazon employees are leaving in search of new opportunities, so the company will continue to look for replacements and hire people for some key positions.
