Apple cuts iPhone 14 Plus production

Apple Inc is reducing production of the iPhone 14 Plus, despite the fact that only a few weeks have passed since the start of shipments. According to the report by Information, the decline in smartphone production is due to the fact that the demand for this iPhone model was re-evaluated by the company.

According to the report, a California-based company demanded a manufacturer in China to stop production of components for this smartphone model.

This measure was taken at a time of declining levels of trade in the global smartphone market. According to research firm Canalys, smartphone sales dropped 9% in the third quarter compared to the same period last year. The company also expects weak smartphone demand over the next six to nine months.

The iPhone 14 Plus, part of a new lineup announced in early September, is positioned by the company as a cheaper alternative to the expensive iPhone Pro models. This smartphone model began to be delivered to customers a month after its announcement.
