Heads of online store and information systems leave Apple

Several Apple Inc executives involved in the retail online store and information-systems divisions left their posts.

Anna Matthiasson, the vice president of online retail, resigned. Mary Demby who was leading the information technology department also leaves the post after years of work.

Her department is called IS&T, it is responsible for the technical infrastructure of online services, manufacturing, and site. The department plays the role of the company's “nerve center”. It allows the employees to communicate with suppliers and clients, and to maintain inter-divisional contacts. The new head of the department isn't named yet. 

Recently, at least three senior executives have left Apple. They all belonged to CEO Tim Cook's team. According to Bloomberg News, vice president of the industrial design department Evans Hankey and Chief Privacy Officer Jane Horvath also leave the company. 

During the coronavirus pandemic, many Apple products were sold through the online store. In recent years, the company has unified policies and marketing for digital and physical storefronts. Karen Rasmussen became the new head of the department. She was a senior director and was in charge of digital experience and e-commerce before this.
