Intel entered a partnership with the Canadian investment company Brookfield to invest up to $30 billion in creating new advanced facilities for their semiconductor production in Chandler, Arizona. It became the corporation’s next step in its strategy of increasing the production volume.
The Intel Corporation continues sticking to its plan of expansion after a challenging period of supply difficulties, which resulted in heavy production delays in manufacturing cars and PCs. Since early last year, the company has begun huge investments in new facilities across the U.S. and Europe, putting billions of dollar into its expansion program.
The transaction with Brookfield provides Intel with a possibility to go on its onshore expansion without excess weighting on its balance sheet. It’s also worth noting that the new partnership might allow Intel keeping its debt capacity to work on other important issues, taking financial responsibilities for long-term projects while still having operational control.
The deal is planned to be closed towards the end of the year.
