The Netflix company intends to attract about roughly forty million users with its planned new subscription plan, which has support for advertisements. According to the Wall Street Journal report, these expectations are about to be met in the second half of the next year.
The company, which is a streaming giant and a forerunner of the industry, has told advertising companies’ executives about its preliminary forecasts. As it was stated in said forecasts, Netflix expects to attract 4.4 million “unique” users from all over the world to its new subscription plan, and it’s suggested that 1.1 million of those viewers will be from the U.S.
In their statement, it was additionally noted that the company hasn’t made the decision on how to launch the new, less expensive ad-supported version yet. Nevertheless, the discussions concerning the issue have already started.
Current market and economic conditions have pushed Netflix to announce its intention to develop and launch a more cheap version of their subscription plan, backed with ad-support. The announced plans were paralleled with job cutting in the company.
