American Express is hiring 1,500 technicians

According to AmEx's latest annual report, the company employed about 64,000 people as of the end of 2021. That includes about 22,000 employees working in the U.S. and 42,000 in other countries.

Jerilyn Cammaroto, AmEx's vice president of corporate affairs, said the company is trying to attract digital product, information and software engineering specialists by the end of the year. In this way, the company intends to support the growth of its business.

AmEx's chief information officer, Ravi Radhakrishnan, told Bloomberg News that about 60 percent of the specialists would be based in the United States. The rest would be based in India and Europe.

Jerilyn Cammaroto, AmEx's vice president of corporate affairs, said the new hires would be in addition to the 3,600 technicians recruited during the past part of 2022. At that time, they hired digital product and engineering professionals such as a software engineer, data analyst, product manager, information security specialist and mobile development engineer.

AmEx reported second-quarter revenue, net of interest expense, of about $13.4 billion in July, down from $10.2 billion in the same period in 2021. The company's net income declined from $2.28 billion to $1.96 billion.
