Japan to spend $170 billion on economic stimulus package

The Japanese government plans to allocate 25.1 trillion yen ($170 billion) for a set of measures to boost the country's economy, Kyodo news agency said Wednesday.

The agency noted the officials are likely to fund more, as municipal expenditures and corporate spending should be taken into account. Thus, the package may cost 67.1 trillion yen.
