Russian oil flow to India recovered in March after a three-month decline. As reported by Reuters, the cargoes were being delivered by non-sanctioned vessels, and some supplies were diverted from Turkey.
This month, India's imports of Russian oil, mainly Urals crude, have increased to 1.54 million barrels per day. In the previous three months, the supplies averaged 1.1–1.2 million barrels per day on concerns about US restrictions, Kpler data showed. The recovery of Russian oil imports to India is easing a supply crunch and lowering prices for rival Middle East grades.
A decision by Turkey's largest oil refiner Tupras to stop buying Russian crude also helped boost supplies to Asian markets, Reuters added.
According to Kpler, in March, oil supplies from Russia to Turkey decreased to 127,000 barrels per day. At the beginning of the year, before new US sanctions on Russian producers were imposed, this figure reached approximately 300,000 barrels per day.
