According to the latest data on Tuesday, consumer sentiment in the euro area has significantly improved in comparison with the forecasts for November.
The EU Commission's preliminary estimate of consumer confidence in the currency bloc rose to -23.9 for the month, up from -27.5 in October. Previously, analysts expected the figure to be -26.0.
That was considered the highest in the past four months. However, according to the European Commission, the indicator is still at a very low level.
In the European Union as a whole, consumer confidence rose to -25.8 (by 2.8 points).
