Forexlive analyst forecasts Canadian dollar strengthening amid US dollar weakening

Adam Button, who heads Forexlive's analytical department, in an interview with BNN Bloomberg on Monday stated his opinion that the Canadian dollar will strengthen to $0.74 by the end of the year. He attributed this appreciation to the increasing uncertainty in global financial markets. The expert notes that the recent decline in confidence in the greenback is directly contributing to the strengthening of the Canadian currency.

Button considers the main factor in the weakening of the US currency to be the contradictory economic policy of the US, which is causing wariness among investors. Mounting trade tensions and deferred economic policymaking have triggered widespread investment hesitancy among businesses, potentially dampening growth prospects. Under such conditions, market participants are beginning to sell off dollar-denominated assets.

Unlike the US, the Canadian economy has shown relative stability, even against the backdrop of current trade controversies, he emphasizes. According to Button, the continuing capital outflow from greenback assets will contribute to the further strengthening of the Canadian dollar by reorienting investors toward more stable investment options.
