After analyzing a survey of 8,500 companies, the Bank of France forecast only slight economic growth in the country in the second quarter of 2025. According to the central bank’s estimates, business activity will be supported by moderate expansion in services and industry, while construction and energy sectors lose momentum.
Managers of the surveyed companies noted growing uncertainty. The situation is particularly acute in export-oriented industries. Although the majority of firms do not yet consider themselves under direct risk, the prevailing tensions in trade relations are creating a negative environment for business development.
An additional factor putting pressure on the economy is the series of May holidays. Companies expect significantly reduced business activity due to more days off. In current conditions, manufacturers are keeping prices stable, while service firms report only slight increases.
