The Xinjiang branch of PetroChina National Petroleum Corporation reported data on oil and gas production. According to the provided information, its fields produced more than 17 million tons of crude oil and natural gas in oil equivalent. This level was achieved for the first time.

A total of 722 new wells have been drilled in the Junggar Basin since the beginning of 2022. With their help, PetroChina's Xinjiang branch produced 14.09 million tons of crude oil and 3.75 billion cubic meters of natural gas. The development of gas and oil reserves was accelerated in 2022. Mahu is a major oil field with explored reserves exceeding 1 billion tons, and Jimsar is a shale oil production demonstration area. The company has introduced technological innovations there.

The Tarim oil field is under CNPC's management. In November 2022, it achieved record production of 6.6 million tons of oil since the beginning of the year. Intensified efforts to expand production capacity led to the drilling and commissioning of 115 new wells. The completion of 30 ultra-deep wells with a depth of 8,000 meters is also a record, which is confirmed by CNPC data.
