The Uber Technologies company, which provides various taxi-related services, is opening its own advertising business unit. The international taxi service is expecting to bring more diversification to its ways of profiting by starting business with brands and advertisers.
The company, which has more than 120 million active customers all over the world each month, intends to sell advertising space on such platforms as its own ride-hailing and delivery applications, as well as provide advertisement services through digital devices inside the vehicles, sponsored emails, storefronts, etc.
As it was stated by general manager for Uber's advertising division Mark Grether, while customers would be considering possible purchases, or awaiting their vehicles or deliveries to arrive, companies and brands would be able to reach their attention through messages, adjusted to customers’ tastes and likes.
