Uber and Nuro launch autonomous food and meal delivery project

Uber Technologies Inc and Nuro have teamed up to test food delivery using unmanned vehicles. The tests will take place in some U.S. cities. In this way, the companies want to expand interaction with companies involved in the development of unmanned vehicles.

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought changes to people's daily lives. Many people are now used to ordering food online from their homes. That's why organizations have made autonomous door-to-door delivery their top development priority.

Trials are scheduled to take place this fall. They will take place in Houston, Texas, and Mountain View, California. During the 10-year collaboration, the company expects to expand the service's presence throughout the Bay Area.

During testing of the new feature, Uber Eats customers will have one more option of delivery to choose when ordering food and groceries — driverless delivery will be added soon.
