Biden and Xi took big step to reduce tensions between US and China
US officials had little hope of reaching any kind of noticeable success before the meeting Joe Biden and Xi Jinping had in Bali on Monday evening.
As a result of the mentioned meeting that last nearly three hours, the US representatives announced a renewal of cooperation between the countries on such issues as climate change and food security.
The achieved results were called a “new starting point” by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi. He also noted the length of the meeting that turned out to be longer than expected. According to his statement made at a briefing with state-run mass media, both China and the US suggest stopping a rupture in bilateral ties between the countries and look forward to stabilizing their relationship.
