After Elon Musk acquired Twitter, Twitter Blue subscribers' option to read articles from some news outlets without ads will be disabled. The Wall Street Journal reported this on Tuesday.
Twitter Blue is the first paid Twitter subscription that provides its purchasers with a wide range of additional features that most Twitter users don’t have. For example, Twitter Blue subscribers can undo their tweets in case less than 30 seconds have passed after clicking the "tweet" button.
The option to access ad-free articles has been one of Twitter Blue's major advantages, along with the recent option to edit tweets. The last feature was introduced this September for Twitter Blue subscribers in the U.S.
According to some sources, it will also be possible to verify an account only after purchasing a Twitter Blue subscription. On Tuesday, Stephen King expressed his disapproval of paid verification on Twitter. In response, Elon Musk suggested reducing the cost to $8 (planned to increase to $20), explaining his decision by the fact that this is the only way, in his view, to fight against bots and trolls.
