Americans view Trump's policies as too unpredictable — Reuters/Ipsos poll

A new Reuters/Ipsos survey has shown that a majority of Americans believe Donald Trump's economic policies are overly unpredictable. The survey conducted among 1,422 U.S. adults found that 57% of respondents are concerned with the president's changeable decisions related to imposing duties against US trading partners.

Trump's protectionist policies have caused considerable anxiety among market participants, triggering a plunge in the S&P 500 index. Despite the loss of more than $3 trillion in market value of US companies, the White House continues to insist on the need to implement a large-scale strategy to bring production back to the United States. However, the citizens who took part in the survey expressed concerns about the rise in prices of everyday goods based on their observation of market fluctuations.

Overall, 44% of respondents approve of Trump's performance as president. Many Trump supporters are confident about his strategy and anticipate long-term positive effects from the measures taken, despite the current economic difficulties.
