Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has announced plans to increase the network's scalability tenfold. Speaking at the ETHGlobal Prague conference in late May and early June, he presented a blockchain development roadmap aimed at delivering major technical upgrades.
The proposed changes will enhance several key components of the system, including upgrades to the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) and the introduction of stateless nodes. While boosting the network’s efficiency remains a priority, developers are committed to preserving Ethereum's decentralized nature. The implementation of these upgrades is expected to take roughly a year and a half.
By increasing the network's scalability, the Ethereum team expects to reduce transaction fees. This improvement would make the blockchain more accessible to mainstream users. Analysts at The Crypto Times predict these upgrades could push ETH's price to $3,000, potentially attracting a new wave of investors to the ecosystem.
