Bitcoin becomes less attractive to investors amid reduced volatility

According to Bloomberg, Bitcoin's appeal to investors is currently declining. This is due to the cryptocurrency's price remaining in a narrow range for most of 2025.

Additionally, Deribit's BTC Volatility Index has dropped to its lowest level in the past two years. This indicator tracks cryptocurrency price fluctuations and represents a 30-day annualized forecast.

Michael Longoria, an analyst at GSR, believes Bitcoin is becoming less speculative and risks losing its leading position in the crypto market. In 2025, its price increased by approximately 17% following a two-fold surge over the past two years. Yesterday, the price of the largest cryptocurrency rose by 3% to $109,157.15.

Some market observers partially attribute the price stability to increased call option sales. More BTC holders are selling call options on their Bitcoin to generate additional income. According to David Lawant, Head of Research at FalconX, this strategy helps reduce volatility by limiting price movements to the levels where options are exercised.
