Ukraine will raise oil transit tariffs from beginning of 2023

Russian oil pipeline operator “Transneft” confirmed that Ukraine would raise transit fees through the main Druzhba pipeline across its territory by 18.3% from the beginning of the next year.

The tariff for transporting crude toward Hungary and Slovakia will be increased by 2.1 euros to 13.6 euros per ton from January 1. Therefore, the tariff will see an increase of 18,3%.

Bloomberg said in November that the Ukrainian side planned to increase oil transit fees through the Druzhba pipeline from the beginning of the following year, citing a letter from Ukrtransnafta. The move is triggered by the destruction of the Ukrainian energy infrastructure that pushed costs up.

It is known that oil supply to Belarusian oil refineries and Europe via a section of the Druzhba pipeline is provided.
