Canada stopped 103 rigs over the past week, according to data from Baker Hughes.
The country dismantled 92 oil rigs and 11 gas rigs during the week, bringing the total number of oil and gas equipment to 96. Now the state has 32 oil and 64 gas rigs in operation.
In contrast, the U.S. has added three rigs, bringing the total to 779. The overall number include 622 oil rigs and 155 gas ones.
According to the latest figures, the total number of rigs in North America now stands at 875. According to Baker Hughes, this represents an increase of 156 rigs over last year's level. The U.S. added 193 rigs year over year. And its neighbour state dropped 37 units. It's also noted that the U.S. special equipment growth includes 142 oil rigs and 49 gas rigs, while Canada has cut 52 oil rigs and supplied 15 gas rigs.
