On Thursday, Foxconn is planning to update its fourth-quarter forecast because of the impact of COVID-19 restrictions this week at its main factory in Zhengzhou, China. The company is a supplier and assembler of iPhones for Apple Inc.
There are about 200,000 people working at the large Foxconn factory of Zhengzhou in central China. Many workers are frustrated with the fact that the factory is currently under strict measures in order to limit the spread of COVID-19. As a result, many of them have left their jobs.
On Wednesday, the lockdown was lifted, but Foxconn announced that it will continue "closed loop" operating processes.
On Thursday at 07:00 GMT, Foxconn's third-quarter earnings report should be released. According to Refinitiv, analysts expect an average profit of 41.3 billion Thai dollars. The figure is higher by 11.7% compared to the last year due to strong demand for high-end consumer electronics and data centers.
According to a reliable source, full return to production at Foxconn's Zhengzhou factory is planned for the second half of November.
