Disney to close Florida’s theme parks with Hurricane Ian approaching

The Walt Disney Co. announced it will shutter theme and aqua parks as for Wednesday and Thursday. The reason is Hurricane Ian to get closer to the coast of Florida.

Residents in the Gulf of Mexico have been evacuated to the higher elevations since there is a great probability of the hurricane bringing deadly storm waves and more than a foot of rain.

The attractions scheduled to close Wednesday and Thursday include Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, Epcot and Magic Kingdom, according to a company’s spokesman.

Walt Disney has already mentioned some of its hotels to shutter in this region until Friday.

In fact, nearly 2.5 million Florida locals have been informed to evacuate the area, as National Hurricane Center meteorologist Eric Blake noted. Ian is predicted to be the most dangerous Category 4 hurricane to hit the Gulf waters.
