US appeals court suspends Trump’s tariff ban

On Thursday, the US federal appeals court suspended the decision of US Court of International trade that sought to restrict President Donald Trump’s tariff policy. To issue a final verdict, the judicial body set a briefing schedule that runs through June 9.

Moreover, another legal challenge was brought against the administration of the US president. On Thursday, May 29, a federal judge in Washington issued a separate ruling declaring the current tariffs on China and several other countries unlawful. Now, the United States government is taking urgent measures to preserve the tariffs. Earlier, officials stated their readiness to appeal to the Supreme Court, seeking a resolution to the current situation.

Meanwhile, Connecticut Attorney General William Tong, whose state is the plaintiff in the case, expressed confidence about the future blockage of duties. In his view, the president’s tariffs have caused "needless chaos and economic uncertainty" in the country.
